The history of New Birth House of Prayer is outlined through a number of commands given by God, open visions, and scriptural text revealed through dreams and audible commands from the mouth of God. 

Patterned after the Early Church as shared in the book of Acts, Dr. McCormick began a fellowship and study in the word inside her family home with her daughters and late husband, Bishop Samuel Lee McCormick, Emeritus.

Following the leading of the Holy Ghost she opened her home to neighboring children and their families who began to show a vital interest and hunger for the living word.

These nightly services birth an ongoing meeting that packed every room in the family's home.

Founded on the principles of God's word, signs and wonders immediately followed and a larger edifice was needed to feed the growing flock of God. For over 30 years the ministry continues to feed the people of God ecumenically, socially, academically, and through health advocacy and wellbeing. 

Laying hold firmly to "the command, the commission, and the call" that Christ gave to His "followers.

Matthew 28:19-20 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
